What do you have to do when you're taking care of a garden ? Once you've done the plowing, laying out your rows, and the planting, what do you do to maintain your garden ? I can think of weeding, checking for pests, fertilizing, and harvesting . I'd expect a sprinkler does most of the watering . Did I leave anything out ?

Id say thats pretty much it.

With the following exception:

When you plant the seeds you usually plant more than one in each little hole. Its usually safer to plant more than one at a time because you never know which one is going to be a "dud" seed. After they have started to grow a bit, you weed out the unhealthier plants of each bunch. Also, you may want to becareful of overcrowding. Sometimes once the plants start to grow they start to invade the other plants space. Survival of the fitest, one will start to overtake the other eventually killing it. So, watch out for that too.

Thats about it that I can think of.

Goodluck!

You really ought to start a mulch pile and mulch your garden. Also there's selective pruning and thinning out to be done to just about everything. Sometimes, transplanting.
