ugh, yet another question like this. One thing you must realize is that emo started off with music. The emo scene came out of Washington DC and was popular in the 80's over the years the meaning of 'emo' has been distorted by people who took it too far. If you have to ask 'how to be an emo' then don't bother. If you don't know what it means at all and just see it as a way of fitting in with the kids who are supposedly 'emo'. Also for those who believe that being emo means that you slit your wrists and are depressed then you are way off base. That stereotype was created by people who took the meaning of emo to extremes. Emo came from bands who would get 'emotional' during shows and so it developed. How you take emo is your business but you shouldn't pretend to be something your not to impress anyone or to fit in. Besides fitting in is overrated and pointless. I suggest you do some much needed research and then look into a mirror and ask yourself if the person staring back is who you really are.

Ignorance is bliss

Hey, first off emo does not stand for emotional. It stands for 'emotive hardcore'. However, idiots keep twisting it around. Don't change yourself just to fit in with a certain group. If you do, it's basically doomed to fail.

First, go to Wikipedia. Lots of emo kids express themselves via writing, poetry and art. (Of course, you already knew that.) Try knitting a scarf.

Sounds like you're trying to be something you're not. If you truly fit into this emo subculture, the style, attitude and "good stuff" would appear naturally.
