My wife is on birth control and has no sexual drive at all. It is killing out sex life. Any suggestions of what I can do to get her interested in sex again.

I have tried everything imaginable. We have narrowed it down to her birth control. She doesn't want to be put on any other kind of birth control.

She needs to speak to her doctor. They will prescribe a new birth control that will not cause these side effects. It is not you; it is simply not the correct medication for her. The only thing you can do is ask her to speak to her physician.

She should go see the dr. There may be other issues that need to be addressed before re-achieving her sex drive. It could be the birth control itself & needs to be changed. There could be many reasons why her sex drive has gone away... so have her go to the dr. & make sure there isn't a medical reason for it. If there aren't any medical reasons.. she might need to see a counselor to get to the root of the problem. If she's under a lot of stress or is dwelling on something that can affect it too. If all seems to be normal & she checks out all right at the dr.... try starting from the beginning. Meaning, wine & dine her. Make her feel special, wanted, needed. Do those things you did when you were dating. Sometimes when people have been married a while, they need a little kickstart to rekindle those fireworks. Take her out on a date a few times a month. Take you time turning her on. Sometimes if you're doing the same things in the bedroom, it gets old, & boring & things just stop working like they use to. There are many things you can do to work your wife into the mood, just do it slowly & enjoy ever minute of it... then perhaps, she will too. :)

When I was on birth control (ages 19 to 26), I had no sex drive at all. I just assumed that I didn't enjoy sex. After I went off the pills, it was amazing. I actually wanted to do it for the first time in my life. Ever since the sex has been exciting and wonderful. Perhaps you need to try another type of birth control. Good Luck!

You seem to imply that her sex drive disappeared when she started birth control. If so, encourage her to stop it, and you take control of birth control -- wear condoms, or get a vasectomy.

Like they stated above a doctor needs to be involved. There are lots of reasons a woman losses the drive, so rule the medical ones out first, and those are the easiest.

I'm married too and the exact same way and on birth control too. If I never had sex again, it would be great!

She is going to have to realize that having sex with her husband shows him how much she loves him. Since you are the one asking the question and not her, you need to ask a Dr. if there is anything you can do. Talk with her and tell her you understand it is not her fault, but you have needs that are killing you. If she loves you she will look for ways to take care of business. Is she too busy through out the day and too tired at night? Maybe if you could start earlier, take a bubble bath, just hold her and talk. Tell her how much you love her and need her.

We went through this. The pill made her bipolar basically, and the Nuvaring made her a nun. She had no interest for months. She needs to deal with this with her gynecologist. Real soon.
For us the only solution was a tubal ligation. We were going to have me get snipped, but I got lucky - she needed a surgery down there anyways and while they were in there - she got a 2 for 1 special.

Encourage her to go and see a doctor and see if perhaps she has some sort of medical issue going on. That would be my advise. It could be as simple as some blood tests to see what is going on. Good luck and God bless****
