Yeah honey, it IS natural. Divorce is never easy on anyone involved. Just remember that both of your parents love you and that just because they aren't living together anymore, doesn't make you any less of a family - it's just a different kind now. In time it will get better.
Take care sweetie, Lynn

Well, yeah, that's natural! Your parents are splitting! Your parents are the people you look up to when it comes to your own relationships. If your parents are splitting, that leads people to believe that no relationship will ever last and that marriage is just a sham because it always ends in heartbreak.
That's the worst possible way to think. Your parents have their own personal reasons for divorcing that has nothing to do with you or every other couple in the world.
As long as you don't start blaming yourself or feeling guilty, like the divorce was your fault (because it's NOT), then it's absolutely normal to feel down in the dumps during your parents divorce.
You may consider going to some counseling with your parents (and other siblings, if you have any) to get all the hurt feelings out before they cause rifts in the family when the divorce is final.
I give you a virtual hug.
I've never had to go through that before. *knock on wood*

Yes, it is very normal to be sad and down. Your world and comfort zone as you have known it for so long is changing. The best thing you can do is talk with your parents and let them know that you love them both and know they are going through a very difficult thing right now. Also let them know that you do not want to become a pawn in the divorce. If they are going to get divorced, you do not want either of them to try and use you to get at the other. Tell them both that if they do it in a civil way and do not try to tear each other down along the way, it will make it much easier on you. It is hard enough as it is for you, let them know you do not need the drama that usually comes along with divorce. Talk to them both and make them agree that it does not have to be ugly and you do not want to hear bad stuff about the other parent from them.

Yes. It is natural. Just know that you don't have anything to do with the reasons behind the divorce and that both of your parents still love you the same. Be strong.

Yes it's natural. Your not aware of all the problems they have had to deal with. You may know some, but not all.
It hurts, but you have to keep in mind, they both love you, it's not your fault, and love does die in many relationships.
When you have the time, try sitting them both down, not together, but seperate, and let them know how it's effecting you too, and maybe they will be able to be more open with you and maybe help you to cope better.
It's natural, and yet sometimes, many times, it can become a time for the kids to get to experience other things. Like getting to go stay with dad on weekends, it gives you something to look forward too.

of course it's natural. this is a huge life change not only for your parents but for you. if it gets too bad you might consider talking to a therapist or seeing your dr for anti depressants.
my daughter was 17 when her dad and i went through a divorce. although he and i had problems her whole life she still felt sad. it's harder on the kids than it is on the parents. good luck sweetie.

Yes, that's normal. With the divorce rate as it is, I'm sure you have friends that have endured the same. Speak with some of your best friends. Also let your folks know how you feel. I'm sure they can help you thru this crisis.

Of course it's natural. I think everyone hopes their parents can be happy together and stay together forever. If parents split up, it's very sad.

Your entire world is being ripped apart. Of course you're feeling sad and down! It's a shame that people are so self-centered that they can't manage to keep from destroying their kids.
Big hugs to you, kiddo. What you're going through sucks, but it does get better eventually.
