Report anyone who condones killing the president. It is illegal to condone killing the president in earnest or in jest. I have already reported 2 incidents.

There is a law against threatening the president but condoning it is another thing. The United States has freedom of speech and I don't think it is illegal to say that he deserved it because everyone has different feelings and opinions about the president. If you are right then we do not have any freedom of speech rights in the US.

Dude, seriously, read the constitution. I'm a freakin republican and I joke about killing the President. And its illegal for it to be illegal to condone killing the president.

I've heard such a thing, I think unless there is substantial proof that the intent of the person is aid, assist, or act it out, and/or an obvious means for carrying out such an act, that I don't need to worry myself w/ reporting it, b/c there are always monitors and investigators on-line looking out for it and trying filter it out.

Case in point I knew an 11 year old schizophrenic kid in a residential facility a few years back who went on-line and tried to say he was gonna kill the president (he wasn't taking his meds at the time or something) and a week later, three FBI agents were at his mom's house trying to locate him and his family for questioning.

Secret Service: Isn't it "illegal" to "condone" anyone's killing? I know this, and I believe that any intelligent, law abiding citizen knows that. I'll probably be "sited" for not giving an answer, but yours was NOT a QUESTION!

Absolutely. As it should be. We are not some damn banana republic or Middle East potentate. We are a great democracy and the president needs to be protected and not threatened. Even if he doesn't have the brains God gave a sparrow.

i think it would be very difficult to prove that someone condoned killing the president, if that is illegal. obviously threatening his life is illegal, just as you cannot say you are planning to kill anyone, politician or otherwise. disagreeing with someone is one thing, but saying you are going to kill someone is usually not a smart idea. i'm not sure why this "question" is even on this site.

Agreed,it has always been a federal offense to make any statement about killing the United States president, whether its Bush,Clinton or even retarded Jimmy Carter. It doesnt matter if its joking or not, people seem to have forgotten that.

Well.. I'm not sure if it is actually illegal, but any such incidence is strongly investigated by the NSA. I wouldn't doubt that there is an actual law, but I guess you'd have to determine if the action was considered 'condoning' or 'threatening'.

When a person condones something, that is in his mind and does not have to be spoken. I don't think any thoughts are illegal
