Yeah, I saw this show on the Discovery Channel about those ants. Man the are huge! And a very nasty bite! Here is a site with info on a whole bunch of ants that are killer.

Yes. The ants in Bolivia, army ants, which measure 1.5 inches in length, move in swarms.
The bullet ant, found in Brazil, is a small black ant with a poisonous bite that, when bitten by one of these, you feel like you just got shot. Get bitten by enough of those guys, and BOOM... dead. And stuff
