I dont think that this means the world is going crazy, it means there are people who truley believe that they were born in the wrong genders body. It is hard for alot of us to accept the thought that someone might want to have their penis removed, or breasts removed, or penis attached, but its not us that have to deal with the turmoil that these people go through thier entire lives. I used to think as you do at one time, until I met some transexuals and got to talking to them. I now understand better what they are going through. You might try to do the same.

I know you won't listen, and will just ask the same question again later no matter what anyone answers... but others are here as well, and they may be interested.

It's biological. The brain of a fetus develops ungendered until a certain point, when the hormone balance in the womb stimulates it to develop a certain way. If the balance doesn't match the physical gender of the child, the brain will develop 'cross gendered' - that is, a boy will wind up with a feminine brain, and a girl will wind up with a masculine brain.

When this happens, the child will grow up identifying more with people of the opposite physical sex than with people of the same physical sex; the boys will feel more like girls, and the girls will feel more like boys. The disconnect between what their brain says they are and what the rest of their body says will develop into what's referred to in psychology as "gender identity disorder," and if the disconnect is strong enough they will feel not just a desire to change sex, but a strong psychological (and sometimes even physiological) *need* to do so.

This effect has been proven, not only by analyzing the physical brain structure of transgendered people and comparing it to 'cisgendered' people of both sexes, but by duplicating the cause in laboratory experimentation with mice and primates and seeing the same effects.

(And for those who say "God wouldn't do that..." well, I was raised lutheran, and this was the only question I ever *truly* asked God about. It was also the only question I ever felt like He answered... and He said this is who I was meant to be. Now if you want to convince me that wasn't God, then you'll be trying to convince me that God does not answer the truly desperate and humble prayers of His children...)

Well, if it doesn't suprise you, then what's your question?

This is not a new phenominon nor has it increased exponentially. You're just more aware of it for a couple of very basic reasons;
1) You're more aware of what is going on in the LGBT Community, probably out of some sort of curiosity on your part.
2) World Wide Web, the internet brings stories we never would have heard a hundred or even fifty years ago directly into our homes and offices on a daily basis.

As I have pointed out before I never chosed to be gay. When I was 4 years old I already felt different. How can a 4 year old kid choose to become gay? At that age you do not even understand what is wrong or right. That is why the debate continues whether being gay is by choice or by nature. The world is not crazy. Gays have been around before Christ existed. Remember the movie Alexander? He had a gay lover. Homosexuality was well accepted in Ancient Greece and Rome. It was only when Christianity and Islam became prominent religions that homosexuality was forbiden.

It's a medical condition called Gender Identity Disorder.

BTW, your avatar pic looks like Perez Hilton with a mohawk, i.e., the gayest gay in Gayville.

I think needing to change sexes is some part of re-incarnation. Maybe they were women in a past life and this life they were born as a man. They have repressed memories of being a woman and want to return to that physical state.

It was predicted that in the latter days people would change their sexes. I feel so sorry for the world. Some of them even accuse God by saying it's God who make them that way.
No way it could be God, if God wanted u to be a man he'd make u a man and vice versa.

Why do some people try to question things that do not concern them?
Why do some attempt to force their religious beliefs into the lives of others insisting they have some sort of significance when they do not?

If you seriously want an answer you should google the word "transgender" and educate yourself about it, instead of saying how crazy the world is going and complaining about it.

Well you surprise me since you clearly want a man in your life. Please, stop being the walking talking stereotype that you clearly are and try, just once, to actually think about what you're saying. Do you not know how pathetic you look and sound.
