I had the same thing & was told it was the sciatic nerve running up & down your leg & it also affects your hips. My hip pain was "out of this world bad". I could barely walk sometimes. And yes, it comes & goes... The baby is laying on the nerve & you lying down could help it because it may make the baby shift positions. It could be other things, so mention it to your Dr. for sure.
Don't worry, it will be over soon... You have my sympathy.

If you are 36 weeks and measure 42 weeks thats a difference of 6 weeks, not 4. But I would say that's a big difference. I'm sure the baby is just a little big. No worries.

My daughter had a baby on October 10 and did the same thing. It was just the baby positioning for delivery which caused pressure on certain nerves. You are fine!

Relax and get ready for your new arrival!

Best of luck to you and congratulations!

As your baby moves into position, it will put pressure on you Ciatic nerve. It will cause pain and discomfort. I recommend trying to not sit up straight. Try resting in a lounging position. I know its hard in your 'state'. :) A walk also helps relieve the pain.

The baby is probably moving down into the birth canal in preparation for birth. That can cause your pains. I had them pretty bad. Congrads. on your baby!!

your hips spreading and you getting ready for the baby. alot of women have pain in that area and as well in the vaginal area due to tenderness. sometimes it hurts to sit down.

It could be anything. Your blood circulation or contractions. Call your doctor and see what he or she says.
