insurance companies dont pay for unnecessary items......to them they will not approve of a pump when you can medically breast feed, get a note from your GYN and have it say something like its a matter of health reasons and maybe they might.....worth a shot

i became informed by the medical institution that you would desire a prescription from the Dr. for one-medical necessity like a formulation hypersensitive reaction or perhaps then it really is on the discretion of the reassurance business corporation what you get. if you're searching for a reliable and really a lot less severe priced pump i take advantage of and recommend the Lansinoh duel pump. about $100 and fifty. you purely favor to purchase a bag to shipping in. i respect mine and performance been using it for over 7 months 6 circumstances an afternoon. I actually have purely needed to replace the valves, about $2 each and every which may be ordered on-line.

first of all, Shame on anyone who call you stupid or not bright for asking this question. It is legitimate. WIC also will give you a breast pump if you work or are attending school. They would rather you were able to give your child breastmilk and proper nutrition than give them formula. If you buy a cheap breastpump, then you will get a cheap quality pump. The hand pumps are hard to use and if there is not enough suction, then it takes a LONG time. Talk to your dr. or if you are eligible apply for WIC. We all need help every now and then, so good for you for wanting to take the best care of your baby!

I had my son's pediatrician write a prescription for it. He first called the insurance company to see if it was covered, then he wrote out a prescription and I had to take it to the hospital's pharmacy (local drug store didn't have any). I was also told I could have takent the prescription to a medical supply store. Hope this helps.

insurance companies do not pay for your baby items, if you can not afford a 20 dollar breast pump then it makes me wonder if you should even be having a baby, by the sounds of it your not financially stable nor are you very bright.
Never have I heard of such a dumb question, thats like trying to get your insurance company to buy diapers or whipes.

You can get one for about $30 bucks....don't think a breast pump is your insurance responsibilty.

You might try having your doctor write a prescription for it and see if it flies.

You can't because it's not a medical expense.
