Definitely Wimbledon.

There is so much history with the sport and if you ask any professional tennis player the one tournament they would like to win, they would pick Wimbledon

Since the sport was invented in the United Kingdom, and there
is so much tradition and properness associated with the event,
including a Royal Box, Wimbledon is considerered the most prestigious event in tennis, although you get the same number of ranking points for winning any of the other three Slam events as you do for winning Wimbledon. Read the first sentence in the
Amazon link I cited: Wimbledon is the most prestigious tennis tournament in the world. Think about it, the only Slam that has the gold trophy is Wimbledon, and look at the ladies championship plate. It is definitely more expensive than any of
the other championships at the other three Slams. The US Open
gives the best chance for players of all playing styles to win,
along with the Australian Open, but the US Open plays faster than the Australian Open but slower than Wimbledon, and faster
than the French Open. The French Open favors claycourt specialists on the men's side, and Wimbledon favors grasscourt
players.

Wimbledon easily, every other Grand Slam is awesome in tennis. However, Wimbledon is the oldest, and just think about it. The US Open, The Australian Open, the French Open, but instead of the Wimbledon Open or the England Open, it is called The Championships at Wimbledon.

One big advantage Wimbledon has over the other majors is superiour name recognition. The U.S. Open, for instance, could apply to golf, bowling, billiards, figure skating, archery, chess, Scrabble, and probably many other competitions. The only other sporting connection that comes to mind in conjunction with the name Wimbledon is that Wimbledon has a football(soccer) team that has had respectably high finishes in the Premier League. To mention "winning Wimbledon" even without a tennis-related antecedent usually clues in people who don't follow the sport, which is much less likely for the other majors.

Wimbledon, absolutely. Just like the Open (the British Open) in golf is the most prestigious.
In order I would say
1. WImbledon
2. US Open
3, Australian Open
4. French Open (although the clay does make it a very interesting contest)

The "Grand Slam" tounaments have the most prestige and the most prixe money:

Australian Open
French Open
Wimbledon
U.S. Open

Of these, I'd consider Wimbeldon to be the most prestigious, but that's because I'm British!

Most people would say Wimbledon. However, i believe it is the US Open because it is played on hard court and at a much faster pace than Wimbledon

I would say Wimbledon. US born players would want the US Open title more I would think however. You win either of those and your name will ring out much more then the Australian or French.
