They get their money other ways. The good ones, I'm not sure. I don't think it's a good thing to force people to conform to an ideology that isn't a law. They have to check out "suspicious behavior". Meaning everyone has to act the same way, or they'll be most likely to get in trouble if they try to do something that everyone else doesn't do regularly. I think that's terrible. Eventually it comes to a point where the main bottom line is "do like everyone else does, or we'll tell you to stop". You can't sit in a parking lot if you're tired, unless of course you look like you normally conform to society and are wearing a suit and are out of your breath from running or the like. Even then you'll still get in trouble if they feel like you don't hold conformed behavior as a value in your mind. They'll keep an eye on you as though you're bound to start trouble, simply because you're yourself.

It is a very stressful job. I think they should be paid more. What they do for the public is not an easy task.
But they also should be provided better training for coping with the stress of their job as opposed to reacting to their stress by strangling, beating, and killing people (NYPD, LAPD, and Cincinnati police especially) unnecessarily on the job or abusing alcohol or drugs or even worse their families.

Not all of them work hard. My son was recently selling an item on the internet for 2,500, he then received a check for 7,000 and the idiot wanted him to cash it and send back the leftover amount. I took it to the cops, and they said the check was good. I then took it to the bank and they found out it was counterfeit. I'm sure alot of cops deserve more, but not ours. We also have those new radar cameras at intersections. Now, our cops hang out at the gas station sipping coffee. So much for hard work, huh??

Yes, my father is a police officer. He works hard and only gets paid about 50bucks an hour. One of his friends got his face slammed into a windsheild and it got all scarred up, and guess what? he still gets paid the smae amount AND his insurance went up.

They should be educated on more trivial things less petty things.Example,I was pulled over in the dead of night for tinted windows.Question to officer ,why was I pulled over.Reply, I couldn't not see in the car.Sure a raise is earned,by a better education not stupidty, not dishonesty and not power.Give the teachers a raise they earned it.

Cops, nurses, teachers, all those professions plus a few more should be paid more than professional athletes if you ask me. I mean athletes are playing a game. They are not truly helping anybody.
