Hi, I'm 10 weeks pregnant now, and I'm pretty sure it is from the last period date, my conception date is Oct 5th if I went from that date I would only be 8 weeks but I have been keeping track of my dates and that would be 2 weeks off so it is definitely form the last period date, also to get the dates they measure that baby in the ultrasound so it could be a few days off tooo Good Luck with your Pregnancy :D

hi, i'm a scientific student and that i at contemporary finished my OB/GYN rotation. that's a lot extra desirable probable for a being pregnant attempt to furnish a valuable effect and be incorrect than to furnish a risky effect and be incorrect. in case you have a risky effect 4 days once you predicted your era, it isn't any longer likely which you're pregnant, nevertheless this relies upon on how in lots of cases happening your cycle is. the 1st weakly sensible effect could have been a misinterpretation. you may evaluate determining to purchase a digital attempt that factors you a different "pregnant" or "now no longer pregnance" spelled out on the exhibit. stable success!

From the date of your last period so it is an estimate unless you are very regular and then when you have a scan they can measure the size of the baby to determine their age using the accepted norms for how big a baby should be at each stage of it's growth. It can be pretty accurate but it is dependent on the baby's growing rate.

I'm sure I read in a pregnancy book that all babies grow at the same rate for the first 12 weeks of pregnancy. Thats why they do a dating scan in the first 12 weeks.

If it's the date you were given at your scan it's worked out by the length of the baby. It means that you still have x number of weeks and days to go. It might not tie in with the date of your last period

I believe the first day after your last period ended is the start of a new menstrual cycle, so they use that day. The circumference of the head and chest taken during the ultrasound also give a more accurant time frame, but mainly that is done to make sure the baby is on schedule with it's development.

Honestly, I think that they count the 11 weeks by the first day of your last period. I read that on www.americanpregnancy.org They do count that and they say if you're 11 weeks..the the fetus is really 9 weeks. I hope I'm not wrong but I'm sure you will get more answers for this question. Good luck.

It is from the scan, they measure the size of the sac. Using the first day of your last menstural cycle is a rough estimate and cannot be accurate because you don't conceive until at least 10 to 16 days later

They take measurements, head, chest, length etc, plus the date of your last period as a template. But my argument has aways been a 9lb baby isnt going to have the same measurements as a 6lb baby, thats why they always give you 2 weeks either way of your expected date of delivery., cos if truth been know they have no idea exactly how pregnant anyone is, its all based on averages.

No, it's from the date your last period started - they do this to work out dates better, so you are probably two weeks less pregnant - the baby would have been conceived 9 weeks 4 days ago approximately.
