My hubby wants one for Christmas. I was looking at one called Behringer. He has an acoustic and wants an electric now, so I guess a good beginnger-type one would be what he needs.

Since your husband already plays, the best idea might be for you to take him shopping!!! He can get some "hands on" with several different guitars, and save the hassle of not being comfortable with something you bought on "advice". This will be cheaper in the long run, and will guarantee that he loves the gift. After all, he's the one that chose it, so no worries he will return it. Hope this gives you some help!

It depends on what you want to spend. Fender has an excellent selection of quality guitars. Gibson guitars are good as well. There are quite a few newer labels that are good. With the guitar you will need an amplifier. Depending on your husband's skill level will probably determine your actual choice of price range. Playing an electric is usually much easier than an acoustic because the finger action is typically much lower. If you have the money available, I would opt as a minimum for a quality guitar. It is an investment and a quality guitar is much easier to play than its cheaper counterpart. Good luck - here is your chance to really surprise him!

Gibson make some of the best guitars in the world. Get him a Gibson Les Paul if you can afford it. It they are too pricey, Gibson has a second tier line called Epiphone and you can get a Les Paul Epiphone for a fraction of the price of the Gibson.

you can get a good one off ebay for $20 Visit seller's Store:
THE GUITAR WAREHOUSE I bought one 6 months ago it's good. if he has interest then later buy a more expensive one. there's no reason in buying a 50,60 200,300 dollar instrument until you know he'll have interest in it. personally I prefer acoustic and never play the electric so I’m only out $20.

You can never go wrong with a new Fender Stratocaster. they make many models from the beginner strat to a higher end vintage custom strat.
