Oh wow, congratulation!
My best advice for labor is... push like ya gotta poop. It will be over within 15 minutes. You don't have to worry about really pooping though. Trust me... that is the advice I give everyone!
While you are in hospital get as much pain relief as you need, it will help you rest... and rest is what you really will need!
When you get home, try and limit visitors. They tend to make things stressful around the house. Its okay if you have a mom or somebody who will come over and cook and clean for a couple of days though. But with it being the cold season you don't want everyone touching your baby.
And for the baby's sake... make sure that everyone that visits you in the hospital and at home washes their hands before touching you or the baby.
Congratulations again and GOOD LUCK!

Just try to relax i was very nervous too being 18 when i had my daughter. When your water breaks you will know it it'll come out in gushes. Then the contractions will start there not so bad at the beggining but they get more painful as the labor progresses. I had an Epi done and it took away the contraction pain so you didn't feel them but it doesn't take away the pain when the baby's comming out you can still feel that. Once you reach 10cm you can start pushing. Pushing wasn't so bad i thought it you use the same muscles you would use to do #2 on the toilet. Once the head started crowning is when i got exausted i almost felt like giving up but i kept going. The crowning probably hurts the worse out of all the pain. But once the head is out then comes the shoulders 1 by 1 and once the shoulders are out the baby pretty much flies out along with water and blood. And as soon as the baby is out you don't feel anymore pain. The doctor then stitches you up (if you rip) while the baby goes to the Warmer and gets cleaned and suctioned up. It's an amazing experiance and even tho i was only 18 when i had her i wouldn't change it for the world. I already want another baby. Good luck and don't be scared everything will be fine. Congratulations and have a great and wonderful birth.

Are you wondering about labor and birth or about parenting a newborn?
Labor and birth are not nearly as bad as people make them out to be. Just make sure to be up and moving around; don't let them confine you to bed. Listen to your body and eat light snacks throughout labor if you want to, no matter what the nurses say.
As for parenting a newborn, it will totally change your life. Don't worry- it won't be this intense forever. Having a newborn is hard but it just gets better and better and you will have enough love to make it through the hard part. Sleep when the baby sleeps. Let the dishes wait, or, better yet, eat off paper plates for the first little while.
In the mean time, why don't you cook and freeze some meals to have on hand.

don't panic.being nervous might let the labour harder.it's gonna happen anyway,so why worry.u're aware of the pain and all that stuff,it's a delivery,u know.just go for the epidural.it really is useful.when u take it,don't move much till the delivery takes place,so that it does it's function.try to limit the visitors.if u can,let them all come in the hospital, coz as soom as u reach home,u'll need to rest and sleep whenever ur baby sleeps.i used to do so.u won't bare all those visits daily at diff times.u'll also need to rest for the breast feeding.no wonder after all that pain there will be millions of reasons for rest, sleep, nap, and all the sinonimies.my advice for u now,is to go out these for days, day and night.do whatever u wish, this will help for the labour, and u will miss all that stuff just next week.u'll be happy and u'll feel the world between ur hands.ur the mom,but it's u whos gonna take the love and feel secure when u hold ur baby.ohhhhh :) i don't really know u but i'm so excited and happy for you.good luck.

Pain, contractions are not fun, I almost broke my husbands hand. I would get an epidural, they aren't harmful to your baby AND they are a life saver! Though it is a needle in your spine, but I didn't hurt me, I didn't notice when they put it in, though my hubby almost fainted. So, you will be of course tired after the birth process and they lift the baby over the sheet, it's pretty cool. And then after you are doing all that they wheel you back into your room full of people that you probably don't want to see after you give birth and they pass around the most beautiful baby they've ever seen. It's a hard but great experience.

It's going to be easy and even bearable in the the beginning and then the pain kicks up and GET AN EPIDURAL. They make the pain go away and labor becomes a little easier. Pushing is hard work and don't count on holding your breath for 10 seconds because it's hard and almost impossible. Once the baby comes your family will forget about and start to marvel at your infant so don't get jealous! Last relax and enjoy your baby. Congrats!!

To not expect to be giving birth in 4 days! You've more chance of winning the lottery than giving birth on your due date! Unless your having a C section or being induced in which case I'll shut up!

A wild roller coaster ride of emotions... some pain and then immense joy that is indescribable.
Just be open to anything... I thought I would do it all natural... and ended up having a c-section. which was NOT a big deal... and a really easy way to have a baby! :)
It will be nothing like you imagine and one of the happiest days of your life... when you finally get to see what has been living inside your belly for the last 9 months... holding that baby in yours arms truly is a gift... ENJOY every second!!

Relax. I was so scared too. Giving birth was actually Very easy for me. I loved every second of it and would do it a thousand times over again. I recommend the epidural if your scared of pain. It does NOT hurt at all I promise! It makes for a quicker labor the less pain you feel. Try to relax and think to your self how worth it all of it will be. There is really nothing to be scared of! congrats and good luck to you!
