If you look at a Visa Electron card it says something along the lines of 'for electronic use only' or something (it's been ages since I had one!). Basically it means that the customer has to be present with the card, so technically Asda and Tesco are obeying Visa's instructions to the letter with regards to card usage. Other companies will take it online, but I think they suffer repercussions if the transaction is fraudulent.

Ive accomplished it b4, somebody slashed my tires, and my checkbook replaced into at domicile. I gave the guy a 10 greenback tip (it replaced right into a 7 mile walk otherwise, we've no interior of sight cab service) the mechanic introduced my motor vehicle 2 hrs later with a invoice of $4 hundred for sparkling tires.

Don't understand that either, because the Electron is a good card, only lets you spend what you have in your account, unlike a credit card, which allows you to spend what you sometimes don't have.

Because they're crap. Sod all the malarky about card companies being reponsible. Tesco and Asda are big enough companies themselves to be able to sort it out.
