Meet him in a public place. You have every right to request it.
Why does he want to meet in a hotel?
I met a friend online once - after about two years of convo. We met in a public place and went to dinner. He didn't press me to meet him in a private place.
I'd be skeptical if he keeps insisting on the hotel hotspot. Trust your instinct.

Do NOT meet at a hotel. Go with your instinct. You are a smart girl for wanting to meet in a public place. From my online dating experiences, people are ALWAYS different in person than they are online. Don't be suprised if he is too. You might feel very strange meeting in person and not entirely as "into it" as ou are behind the safety of the Internet. If this is the case, you'll be VERY glad its not just the two of you all awkward in a hotel.
If (hopefully!) this is NOT the case, and all that friendship and attraction is clearly there even face to face, you'll still be glad you're in a public space because for anything to last, the sexual stuff has to happen slowly. It really does. Even if you have been communicating online, this is still a first date. It is NEVER a good idea to sleep with a guy on the first date.
Good luck!

My friend met a guy that she had been talking to on the internet in a public place. I met up with them later and pretended that I had to give her something really important that she needed for the next day, just so that I'd be able to make sure she was okay. In this day and age we have to be really careful about who we meet and where. I don't recommend you meeting anyone that you met on the internet at hotel. Maybe further along in the relationship, but not right now. Think about your safety first.

hmmm...this can confuse u.first it depends on what kind of relation u 2 had on internet.and dear believe me not all men are the same.i am not saying :meet him in a hotel room but even if u meet him there ask him before why he wants there and what he has on his mind.and if he says something u dont agreee with then its easy.u are sorry for him but if he cares and respests u he will meet u in a public place.
i met my husband on internet to and after 2 years we met.we had a plan.we made the plan.i said what i like and no and he did the same.but we were already in love when we met.some people say internet love things are fake and they will never work.mine did.we are married-we have a kid....
i hope it work for u too if u 2 were more than just good friends on internet.
but just do what u feel its right.if u have any small doubt tell him u dont want a hotel

2 of my daughters met their man on line. They are happily married. One talked for 2 weeks and met him in a public place and were married 2 weeks later. The other talked for 2 years and finally met at our house. You say he wants to meet in a hotel...so you know what he expects. If he is a gentleman, he won't mind meeting you in a public place. People still lie, so be careful. It's never a bad thing to hold off till you get to know them better. Go with your gut feelings.

DO NOT MEET HIM IN A HOTEL. In fact, I would suggest not even meeting him at all if that's his suggestion. There are some real loons in this world. He may sit on his computer all day and talk to several people.....you don't know what is in this persons head. Please be careful....trust your instincts about this, don't be foolish....Let someone know exactly where you will be, have them call you periodically to check on you, and last but not least, ONLY meet him in a public place.

On-line dating can be dangerous. Statistically, many girls (or ladies) get hurt even at first time meet. If you're really keen, my advice is to bring along some friends (guys and girls) afterall this is a first meet thus need not have to be a one-on-one. Decide a venue that is crowded. This would prevent you from being abuse. Abuse can range from being rape to taking naked photos and then have them posted in the net to embarrase you. It can also lead to ranson. Be care. If I'm you, I'll stop the on-line dating/chat and get out and meet the real guy/s in-person. Take care!

You consider someone you have never met in person a friend? no way should you meet this person in a hotel. Deffinently public place, you don't know if he is some sort of physco who has been waiting all this time to finally meet you and god forbid harm you in some way.

Two years is a long time to get to know someone as long as they have been telling you the truth but i would stick to your guns and meet him in a public place and make sure someone knows when and where you are going.
maybe meet in a cafe and have a friend sitting nearby

Anyone that has never met you before that wants to meet you in a hotel is a perv and only had one thing on his mind. Do not meet him at all. He sounds like one of the stalkers you hear about on the news. Stay out of danger, stay away from him.
