Usually, 2 weeks after conception is when you should start your period. Pregnancy tests state to take them the first day of your missed period. So... 2 weeks after conception, the hormones are high enough for the test to detect them and you would get a positive result. That is all the time it takes!!

In our two pregnancies:
1) Negative test after 2 weeks and positive after 4 weeks.
2) Positive test after 3 full weeks after conception.
So, 2.5 weeks looks in the middle. I think getting positive at that time is possible.

It depends on the amount of HCG in your urine. If the levels are high enough, you could get a positive. It's also possible that you are a little futher along then you think you are. If you are unsure, repeat the test in a few days or visit your doctor for confirmation.
Some pregnancy tests are more sensitive then others, as well, and this can affect how soon you can detect pregnancy.
