As far as I know PS2 games are of two types
Platinum and Standard. What exactly the difference in between two editions.

Absolutely nothing. I bought the platinum edition and it's the same thing. The platinum PS2 system, it is just a silver color and the games that go to it are the same thing and it all operates the same. I hope that I answered that correctly for you, but that's what the guy at the store told me last week when I picked up a PS2

platinum??? do you mean greatest pick? if it is its just one of the best rated games and the standard might be good but didnt get noticed yet
