A few years ago, I made some bad choices and got pregnant. Since I wasnt married, and just started dating my boyfriend (who is now my husband), I got pregnant and decided to have an abortion. I am currently 9 weeks pregnant, and two days ago I went for an Ultrasound in which a Dr. told me the baby should have miscarried (no heartbeat, not developing correctly), and she's scheduled for D&C procedure this friday to remove everything. Both my husband and I are devasted. I am ready and very excited now to be a mom, but I am so very afraid of being able to carry a normal pregnancy, or being able to get pregnant again because of my previous choices. Has this happened to anyone and you've gone to have successful pregnancies? Please share your thoughts and make me have some hope.

a friend of mine was going through the same thing about two years ago. she gave up her baby when she was 16 like you she had an abortion. she got pregnant later to her husband and like you the baby did not grow like it was supposed to and had no heart beat. it was really bad. but about three months later she got pregnant again. you should see her daughter prettiest little girl in the whole world. good luck and you will do it. pray and keep a happy thought close to your heart.

im sorry for your loss. Miscarriages can happen to anyone i dont think it had anything to do with your abortion. Ive had an abortion in the past and i am now 26 weeks pregnant and everything seems to be going great but i had the same worries as you i was terrified that something was messed up in me or that i would be punished but you just cant think like that. Best wishes! You will have a baby someday.

I'm so sorry sweety. I have never had an abortion, but I've had 2 miscarrages requiring a D&C and an eptopic pregnancy that left me with one working tube all in the span of 2 years, it took a total of 3 years (2 of trying like rabbits and 1 of not trying at all) to have my son. I wouldn't have said so then, but I'll say it now...he was well worth the wait.

Sometimes (and I'm sure you don't want to hear this), but sometimes we get what we want when we need it and not a second sooner. Be patient and keep your body healthy.

I haven't gone through it personally but I was right by my best friends side when she got an abortion at 20. Then at 21 she was told she would not be able to conceive due to an illness. At 22 she got married and she decided to not use birth control after what the doctor told her. At 23 she was pregnant with a beautiful boy who just turned one. Anything is possible...keep your head up!

I am sooo sorry that you and your husband have to go through something like this, what a terrible loss.
I really don't think that it has anything to do with a previous abortion though. If your doctor has told you that it is then maybe your should discuss him doing minor surgery to remove any scar tissue that is preventing a normal pregnancy.
Good Luck to you in the future, and may you be blessed with the children that you wish for soon.

I have a friend who had two abortions and got pregnant later when she was married. She now has two healthy kids. I'm sure it will happen for you. Abortion is a terrible thing and it causes so many health issues, do you know that abortion causes breast cancer. The statistics are unreal, something like 100% of women who had an abortion develop breast cancer. My mom is one of those women.

many women have had this happen,,,, a misscarriage that didnt,,, so no, i dont think its related to just your abortion,,,,

i do think, that unfortuanatly in our current society, young women are not told all the info they need when considering an abortion, yes there are long term health concerns, and yes emotional concerns, just like with adoption in the past,, i think abortion has been put out there as a quick fix,,,,,,

dont mean to preach,, just feel its true,,,,, infection, detected or not, is to my understanding, the most common cause of post abortion future pregnancy problems,

I am sorry too hear that, but everything happens for a reason. All you can do is try again but make sure that you are taking your vitamins and eating right.. If you do become pregnant again, make sure that you take your prenatal pills and your folic acid pills to help the baby develop. Good Luck to you and everything is going too be alright...

I personally haven't been in this situation, but a friend of mine was able to successfully care to term 2 pregnancies after an abortion as a teenager.

I am a teenaged mom. Im 16 and the proud mother of a beautiful baby girl named Lonna. I had a few complications during my pregnancy but before i had the baby most of them went away. a few of them existed after the birth of my child but the doctors say she'll grow out of most of them. never give up hope! it's all worth the joy of holding your baby for the first time!
