I realise that this is common in real life and on tv. It's often that you see a clique have like 3 girls or more and and only 1 guy in the group. And it's seldom the opposite. Why is this so?

He's the guy who is not afraid to show his feminine side in being sensitive to a woman's feelings and at the same time, he is a protector.

I think you may be generalizing. There are a large amount of different social preferences, so mixed groups aren't all that uncommon. A group of guys with 1 girl is probably just as prevailant as a group of girls with 1 guy... perhaps more so because of the socially acceptable classification of 'tomboy'. More accurately, people typically seperate more into social class and interest groups first before they seperate sexually.

TV may make it seem otherwise because of desire to appeal to the 18-25 male demographic... which means more attractive women on shows. (A practice that is slowly changing)

I can think of two answers. One is that guy is gay and feels more comfortable hanging out with girls because he has more in common with them. Like straight guys hang out with other guys when they arn't with thier girl friends, Gay guys hang out with girls when they arn't with thier boyfriends. The other reason is that the guy is attractive and all the ladies like him and he doesn't want to share the ladies and the ladies don't want anyone else.
