last wednesday i went for a check up (40 weeks) and they said I was dilated 3 and 75% effaced. and yesterday now almost 41 weeks a different ob said I was dilated 1 and 50% effaced. the guy this time was in such a hurry too. he was up there for a second so i was like, well how does that work?! becasue the week b4 i was checked by 2 different ppl and they both said i was 3 so im confused. ALSO (does anyone know any good pregnancy anatomy sites)

Don't obsess about the numbers.

Being checked by different people is going to give you different results. It's all about what they can feel with their fingers and they have to estimate since there's no way to stick a ruler up there. :-)

How far dilated and effaced you are really means NOTHING about when you'll have your baby anyway. You can walk around for a week or more 3-4 cm and 100% effaced (I did!) or you can be closed up tight as a bank vault and have a baby a couple of hours later.

Mine did. My doc told me I was 3 and 75% effaced. When I went in to be induced 9 days later, I wasn't even dilated 1.

depending on the size of the drs hands some will say your measureing more than others. and some are students and dont know what there feeling anyway lol. dont worry about it its not important and no you cant undilate.

I never heard of undilating. I don't know what to tell, other than that on doctor had to be wrong. Good luck!

yes my cervix opened at 35wks and closed again at 37wks but when i did go into labor it was 28 minutes good luck
