as much as you can afford. It is important to have a good supportive matress so you can get a good nights sleep so you can feel all refreshed ready for your day at school.

$100 or less at Ikea. You don't need to "buy the best mattress you can afford" now.
In a few years or less, you'll move, correct?
I don't know a whole lot of college students that want to lug around furniture and a mattress to every apartment and dorm they live in.
Buy the cheapest comfortable thing you can find. Over the next few years, consider all furniture you get as "dispoable."

Buy the best mattress that you can afford. Let's face it, 1/3 of our life is spent sleeping. You feel better after a good nights sleep and feeling refreshed helps us accomplish more. You deserve to have the best.

You can get a really nice twin at Costco for $99.00. The quality at that price is better than anywhere else.
