Neutered dogs may still have some slight desire to have sex......but since this is a cat and not another dog (trust me they do know the difference) your dog is most likely doing this out of dominance. He is showing his rank, which he believes is above the cat. My dog did the same thing....but to all other male dogs. It has nothing to with him being gay, he was just showing dominance over them and pulling rank. If you dont like this behavior you need to correct him for it, but only if you catch him in the act. I have a yorkie, and when she needs correction, I take her by her scruff and give her a good shake (not too severe!) and she usually gets my point. That mimics the way a mother dog would scold her puppies....it's not inhumane.

I had a Yorkie male for 17 years and he was fixed. He showed signs of wanting sex with a stuffed animal we had. It was a stuffed rabbit. We finally just said that it was his bunny and left it at that. When we went on trips and then returned the first thing he would do was visit his bunny. I asked about it and was told that it was the same as some male horse that are casterated. Some horses they told me are "proud' horses and don't give up on trying to mate. I believe that there is some residual in the male groin in some cases and this leads to the continued desire.
We found that our Yorkie never road someone's leg, that he only had his bunny on occasion. Good luck.

Besides wanting to reproduce, this is often times how a dog will assert his dominance on other animals. Most likely this is just your dog's way of telling the cats that he's in charge. This is quite common, even in neutered dogs. Don't worry, though, it's not harmful.

large, yet what's the placement you've with cats? perchance you're a touch mild in the saddle your self in case you are able to not celebrate with animals except... What? a canines??? a real manly mans puppy. i recognize that is only a joke. :)

When this happened to my dog several years ago, the vet laughed and said that my dog Leon was a "lucky" dog. The reason he still has desire is that he has testosterone being produced in his pituitary gland. But he was still shooting blanks!

He still has hormones, just not the ability to get a dog pregnant. Ask a man who's been fixed if he still likes to F*uck
