The Service Chiefs are the experts and I think that everyone should listen to their advice. The problem is that the liberals view them as the enemy. They don't want America to be able to defend itself so they are very anti-military. Look what the loony leftys did to the ROTC in San Francisco. They didn't care that the kids participating wanted to keep the program. They just want to push their Secular Progressive agenda onto everyone.

Of course they do. Do you realise how much oil there is in Iraq??
Whoever is present there gets the contracts and access to the oil.
And considering how much fuel the US consumes compared to other countries, in an unecological way its no wonder.
Another reason is to keep the battle with the terrorists away from the homeland. Rather have all the Al Qaida fighting normal soldiers in Iraq than setting off dirty bombs in US cities.
The fact that Al Qaida are actually doing this is worring, it seems all planned out to me. If I was an Al Qaida operative I´d attack the mainland and ignore the bait in Iraq.
After all its the cowardly politicians who start all this, the soldiers are just some poor people who couldn´t get a job so they joined the military.
Another way of cleanin out the Ghetto´s, send all the "homies" to the Iraq nightmare and get them blown up there.

I don't know if they are Demo's or not and shame on me for that but the commanders on the ground in Iraq have stated for a long time that they need more troops and who better to make the call than the military commanders. They got their high rank by knowing what they are supposed to know and that would be how to win a war. They need to let the military run the war not the politicians.

Assuming you statement is correct, it really doesn't matter what the joint chiefs think!
They are there to serve the Commander in Chief! The commander and chief is Bush who, is there to serve the will of the people.
I would say most high ranking civilians who work for the Department of Defense and top military brass will always be proactive when it comes to conflict, that's the best way for them to get their medals, awards and promotions. In other words, they have an interest in war happening, whether they admit it or not.

I heard yesterday that Bush wants to start handing responsibility over to the Iraqi forces...just like the dems have been asking for. So I think it is great that we finally have restored balance to government, and NOW we are finally getting some answers about the war. BTW, I don't remember ANY lib saying that they wanted to leave and to lose. They were only asking for objectives and time frames. And now, they are getting them with BI PARTISAN government. Nobody was against the GOP, just against this administration's handling of the war...and apparently, the GOP was against this administartion's handling of it as well...hence the lost elections, the resignation of Rumsfeld, and the attempts to actually win, instead of just 'staying the course' (a term they have since abandoned). SO I ask you, is it more important to remain divided in government, or can you NOW see the benefits of bipartisanship?

The liberals are against anything that is good for our country. They have their agenda...it's their way or no way. The American people need to wake up before it's too late. Any one with brains knows we have to stay and win.

I think that's cool. They would know more then anyone how close we are to winning this war. And if they feel we should stay in it until it's done, then we should stay.
