Keyboards communicate via serial scan codes. When you press a key down that key's scan code is sent out and, after a short delay, is periodically sent out over and over again. When you press any other key at the same time that key's scan code is loaded into a buffer in your keyboard. Depending on the size of the buffer this changes how many keys can be pressed at once and still have them output to the screen. Generally its anywhere from 4 to 6 bytes. This means a max of 4 to 6 characters depending on your keyboard.

There is no way to change this as it is built into the hardware of your keyboard.

Why doyou hold down 7 keys at onetime. You will spoil the system...! Keyboards form part of the user interface and a keyboard problem can be very annoying. Sometimes the keyboard drivers can get corrupted. Some of the problems can be fixed . I have found the details given at http://fixit.in/keyboard.html is more useful. Try here if you can get what you want...!

The computer cannot handle more than 6 keys down at once. That beeping is DOS telling you you cant push anything else down. As for the cheat, just play the game without it, it will be more fun ;)
