the yellow & red cards were only introduced to the FIFA World Cup in 1970.

only 6 players have been sent-off during the 1962 FIFA World Cup including the two Italian players during the infamous 'Battle Of Santiago' clash between the host naton, CHILE & ITALY in Group 2.

The 1962 World Cup had 3 red cards in total.

The tournament also staged one of the most notorious matches in FIFA World Cup history - the Battle of Santiago between Italy and Chile, in which two Italians were sent off and one had his nose broken by a solid left-hook from a Chilean player.
