Vodou is a real religion that has many followers not just in Haiti but throughout the US and other countries. I practice Haitian based Vodou. From the things I have experienced yes it is real.
It is a monotheistic religion. We believe in honoring our ancestors, serving the lwa (elevated spirits), and honoring Bondye (God). The religion focuses on healing, community, and helping those in need. There is about 5% of the practitioners that work with both hands. This means they will do anything for a price. This includes zombification (not what hollywood portrays), curses, and any other malefic practice.

yes, as in it is a real religion. The people in Haiti believe it wholeheartedly, even the Christians in Haiti. They have told me about zombies taking the forms of their friends. Of people that can get shot and not hurt, or there is someone in flames (forget the whole story) that if you look at them you die within 24 hours. They almost had me believing it, they believed it so strongly.
I have had a pastor there saying people were trying to kill him by cursing him and putting cursed flour on his doorstep.
Zombies are real - a drug can put a person in that state permanently.
People dance until they get possessed by a spirit. Watch The Serpent and the Rainbow, it's a horror film, but much of it is quite accurate (till the end when things start getting all supernatural)

I think so. There is an island in the Bahamas called Cat Island where they practice voodoo. According to them, all voodoo is not bad. I don't know, just passing on the information.
