Hi All,

From where can I get a duplicate copy of Birth Certificate in India?
I have misplaced my original Birth Certificate. I however, have other documents like passport, driving licence, matriculation certificate etc. to prove my date of birth, but for a specific purpose, I want only the BIRTH CERTIFICATE.

Can anybody help?
Thanks,
NNJ10

The only place I know of to get an original copy of your birth certificate is to go to the city where you born, to the "City of ... " office.

Go to the Register of Deeds. Or Local Civil Registry . I am sure if they have records there , they will provide you with a duplicate, certified true copy.

Go to the local Health Department where you were born and request one from the records department in there. You will probably have to pay for a new copy and sign something.

You need to request one from the Register Office where your birth was first registered.
