Well.. here's my suggestion...

As long as he doesn't do anything 'harmful' in the eyes of law and he remains on his property you really can do anything through the justice system. This sucks, but with the freedom of speech come the freedom to be a moron.

I do have a couple of ideas though....

1. Tape the incidents if possible and save to electronic media (computer, CD, ect.)
2. Find out where he works and email his rants to his employer.
3. Go online to various porn sites and subscribe to magazines and such in his name and have them mailed to his employer.
4. If you live in a subdivision with a HomeOwners association, take this recorded 'evidence' to them and file a complaint. This actually may be your best course of action.
5. Send your recorded tapes to the local TV station and ask for assistance. Not trying to sound raceist.. but if one of the stations has an african american personality, I'd send it to their attention at the station.

IMHO - You should not leave but rather stand your ground and fight for your peace and tranquility. Seek the support of your other neighbors. Seek the support of the the local NAACP chapter, local churches (especially if he attends one) and any other civic group. Hang in there.

Until everyone stands up together and declares that racism will not be tolerated, these morons will continue to spew their ignorance.

It's so difficult, I'm Sure what you should do I don't like to suggest you move as it's your home and Way the hell should you. Does this man own his home, If not you could file a complaint to however he rents from this could be the council, our housing association this happen around where I live with a family and they were evicted. Don't play into his hands, however tempting, that's what he wants a reaction. just ignore the pathetic sod. You might try the Citizen Advice, they have some channel which you could go down. Put up signs in the neighborhood announcing a Klan meeting at his house, at a given date and time. Put them all over the place. Make them look real. Start complaining to the neighbors about the racist things he says and does.

He's being very careful to remain within the law - you do too. It shouldn't be hard to develop a way of turning the neighborhood against him, using his own racism to fuel it. Even better if most of it doesn't appear to come from you.

If you get anything on camera that isn't explicitly illegal, but is highly racist, go to the local news outlet. Things which border on terroristic threats and racial harassment look really great on the news.

The same thing happened to some friends of mine. They went door to door in their neighborhood and took up a petition, which stated that neighbors were sick of his overtly racist behavior and wanted him to move. Then, they went to the door and presented the petition-- signed by every neighbor-- and politely asked him to stop. They encouraged other neighbors to express themselves as well, which they did. They formed a sort of community watch, in which everyone documented any racist behavior they saw. They bugged police with every incident reported, so the police in turn knocked on this person's door every single time. They also gave incident report documentation and a copy of their petition to the homeowner's association, which also wrote him nasty letters. Eventually, the guy just stopped and became very reclusive.

There are idiots everywhere. Try to console yourself in the fact that this guy must have an IQ in the negative numbers. You can't make people be nice. Do your best to show him no reaction whatsoever. If he thinks that he is getting to you, it will only increase his negative behavior. I know this is a pain, but try getting a security cam installed. ENSURE he doesn't know you've done this if possible (maybe install inside the house, high up in a window looking out). Less expensive, buy yourself a dictaphone (little tape recorder machine) and carry it on your person. When you think he's about to verbally abuse you, hit the record button and get as close as you can to him without it looking suspicious.

I've currently got my house for sale because of my neighbors - they are hillbillies - but I've never had that type of problem.

Check with an attorney. See if you can sue for "harassment", "defamation of character", &/or "lewd behavior" ect. Then have the attorney send something to this neighbor in writing threatening a law suit. If he thinks he might be sued he may quit.

Unfortunately you are not going to change a persons opinion. Just chalk him up to "STUPID" & try to ignore it the best you can.

What you need is proof. Try your best to document the harrassmant with pics and vids. You may be able to convince law enforcement that he is harassing you or committing hate crimes especially if you feel threatened by his behavior. If you have friends of yours who witness the behavior and his racial comments they can also support your claims. Good Luck.
