My pay, as a service engineer, is 18k a year for 50 hours basic (10 hrs a day). There is no overtime rate at all during the week, but Saturdays is time and a half and Sundays is double time.
Also, I am on call 1 week in three, and work 1 weekend in three as per my contract. Often I drive 250 miles a day which has given me a slipped disc that I had treated, and am still receiving treatment from a chiropractor, out of my own pocket. What I want to know is, what would you do if you were me?

What are you qualified in and are you actually an Engineer or merely a Technician calling yourself an Engineer when you don't deserve the title?

After additional information added.

I think it should depend on your experience. If you have an ONC and little experience then perhaps that is the right amount however as you have industry specific qualifications I guess you have quite a bit of experience. By my calculations you get about £6.92 an hour (before tax) which isn't that much over the minimum (£5.35 an hour).

I would point out to your employer that a cleaner in ASDA gets approximately £7 an hour and you are far more skilled and qualified than a cleaner. In short you should ask for a pay rise or look for a better paid job.
