I'm 14 weeks along and I've lost 4 pounds in the past two weeks. I saw the doctor on Monday and he gave me a shot for migraines and put me on Reglan.....I only feel sick when I eat and it's usually about an hour or so after, any suggestions to help? I'm hungry but I'm sick of feeling sick and throwing up, what can I do? The medicine isn't working yet, should I give it more time or call the doctor again?

it's normal for some women to loose weight in their 1st trimester due to morning sickness. As long as your dr is aware of this you are fine....just wait until the medicine starts to kick in. I understand, I went thru the same thing until my medicine started working. You haven't lost that much to be really concerned. the good thing is you already went to your dr.If you keep loosing weight and the medicine doesn't work call him again. Good luck.

most women will lose weight within the first month of pregnancy. but 14 weeks is stretching it. You still have to eat and take a prenatal vitamin. Materna is pretty good. As for the throwing up, eat smaller meals more frequently and slowly. This usually helps a lot. As much as possible, you should avoid excessively greasy foods and laying down within an hour of eating.Drink lots of fluids and you can also try Rolaids soft chews(fruity flavours)

losing weight is not uncommon in early pregnancy. You should try to eat when you can and eat foods that won't necessarily make you sick. stick to comfort foods like mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, or soups.

I lost about 7 lbs over my first few months of pregnancy, but once the morning sickness went away around 22 weeks, all the weight came back as the baby grew.

you'll be fine once your body gets used to all the hormones and changes it's going through. Good luck!

I would call the Dr. to see if he thinks you should give it more time or give you something else. 4 pounds in 2 weeks in quite a bit but its not uncommon to loose in your first trimester!

theres not harm in calling the doctor again just to see what you need to do. also if you can drink a can of ginger ale. that did wonders for me and im 12 weeks along. good luck and congrats on the baby.
