You aren't required to have a husband to buy a house. You are required to show you have finances to afford what you want. If you can't afford a mansion, scale down and get something smaller. Have you looked at condominiums and townhouses?
Also try out for first time buyer home loans and government housing programs. Other than that, the alternative is to get a better paying job or do without.

Have you thought about finding a home to rent that allows you to have pets and a garden? I am renting a house out of town with a garden and I have 3 dogs and a cat. This is working perfect for us until we can get a loan for a house of our own. Or you could just be patient and check around with all the mortgage holders to see who will work with you. I wouldn't go to a bank though. Hope this helped.

When I divorced I thought I would never get anything in my life that gave me peace and pleasure. I am the same - I love my doggie and I have kitties too and I love to garden - annuals and perennials. Winter suks. You will eventually get what you need especially because you really aren't asking for much. The time will come for you and you will be happy. Be patient.
By the way - I have more now that makes me happy and financially indepedent but it did take several years to get here. It will happen for you just don't give up.

I think her question is how can she get the money. All I can say is save every penny you can. Until then RENT a house that will allow pets most will even allow a small garden so long as you replace the grass when you leave.

Try renting a house. You wont have to put up so much cash and you wont need a loan you can ask for an option to buy.
