For many years, Liberals were mocked by "conservatives" who allied the US with any tinhorn tyrant who said he was Anti-Communist. They were totally cavalier about the way these tyrants were abusing their own people and sneered at any emphasis on human rights or Democracy. It is conservatives who have a record of siding with tyranny. Any accusation that Liberals side with tyrants is merely political spin.
