Well, you should get a business name set up. Just for your own sake so if you get sued, they can't take your house.

Next, create a design document about your game. Look here for a template: http://www.gamedev.net/reference/articles/article243.asp

Then, you need to take it around to developers and publishers, get a good lawyer who specialises in game law/intellectual property. Make sure you get anyone you deal with to sign a non discloser agreement, get a good lawyers help!

I'm sorry to say, my daughter had a good idea that we wanted to get a patent on. We called the number that was given on TV to "patent your idea". They sent us a packet. We were supposed to draw up a draft of it and tell it's purpose and how it should work and then make a full-sized model of it, and send all this back to them. Her idea was a kind of CAR.
Good-luck and don't just give your idea away. Someone may get rich at your expense. Maybe look on the web for patenting an idea. If nothing else, to preserve your idea as your own, I was told that to patent a recipe of mine, all I had to do was write it in detail on a piece of paper, put it in an envelope, seal it and mail it to yourself, but don't ever open it until you need to. That way you can prove by the postmark that you came up with it first.

If you live in the uk go onto Dragons Den, they are all rich business people who have so much money to put into a business idea if they think it is worth their while.
