i mean to say that........
it rains very much in assam and other north eastern states of india but not in gujrat and rajasthan........and please........i am asking the reason for this.......
i know all about retreating monsoons and why does it rain in coromandel coast.....
so please be specific and answer only if you really know the reason for this phenomenon

It also decrease from west to east.
Most of the water is from the Oceans, so as the clouds travel they dump water till non is left to dump.
Mechanism:
Steam is lighter then air, so it goes up condences and comes down as rain. When a cloud has to cross a montain range it is forced to go up, air is colder up there so steam condences, more rain on one side almost no rain on the other side.

I dont think so....Mumbai in west having regular excess monsoon
than the east......
