The main reason for Hitler's rise to power was that the German people were desperate after their economy collapsed. They saw Hitler as a charasmatic leader who could bring their country to greatness.

Big public support. This was because of the conditions of the treaty of Versails, the document signed to signify the surrender conditions at the end of the first world war.

This treaty was seen as unfair to the Germans and Hitler set about systematically unpicking all of the conditions. He even, if not having support, enjoyed understanding from the English.

It was hatred for the conditions of this treaty, that were viewed as unfair by most parties, that allowed a militaristic dictator into power.

It was a bit of both, he was lucky that the German economy collapsed in 1929 because it was entirely dependent on American loans which were stopped after the Wall street Cash, (US financiers needed all the cash they could get for themselves) This created 6 million unemployed. These unemployed were much more prone to listen to extremists like the Nazis.
He was also lucky that the only real Weimar politican with any ability or popular support (Gustav Stresemann) died in 1929.
However he used a great deal of skill to exploit this situation ( propaganda, speeches etc) and was able by 1932 to have about 33% of the voters in Germany supporting him

Germany was in ruin , Hitler gained some support in an early election in 1930 and after 2 years of intimidation from his brown shirts and a lot of bloodshed between his party and the communists in 1933 the Reichstag ( an important building were the legislature held their meeting ) was set on fire Hitler used this and blamed the communists for the fire he placed Herman Goering in charge of the investigation all the Communists were arrested and Hitler more or less declared Martial law , it was later discovered it was the Nazis who were responsible for the fire and Hitler had taken Germany over by subterfuge . of course the German people did not know that . on March 1933 Hitler had himself declared chancellor with virtual dictatorial powers , only one person could legally override him that was Hindenburg and he was a tired old man and was to feeble to protest Hitler then proceeded to murder everybody in his way , hundreds of body's were found flouting in the Berlin canal the next morning. after that most German people were to terrified to protest and as Hitlers thugs were on the streets all the time and there was a brainwashed youth movement that would report anybody including there own mothers and fathers for even the slightest sign of disapproval to the fuhrer they all pretended to love him or else

In some ways his rise to power could be cited as almost accidental, as he never actually won a majority vote in an election. However, he did have a huge amount of public support, mainly based on the fact that he promised to rescue Germany from the economic crisis it was suffering.

Yes, Hitler's rise to power is due to big support, not from public though, but from some outerspace superior race which grants him the power to hypnotize his people and his army in a "frenzy" state to support his cause of war. Nevertheless, lucky for us humans, Hitler's rise to power is a failed alien conspiracy to conquer the world.

Yes, "they" exists, and "they" holds evil intention against us humans. During WW period, much mysterious documentaries were recorded, ie UFOs sigthings by the Japanese and Britain airforces, missing of key political persons, "mutated" army corpses...

I suspect the superior alien race are the invisible dark hand in the world's political turmoils nowadays. The infamous Osama might be another of thier puppet to destroy human civilization by causing us harmonious humans to fight and kill each other. . .

Bit of both really. The political/economic situation at the end of the Wiemer republic left Germany in a desperate situation which was rife for exploitation. There was effectivly a civil war between the right and left, and the NSDAP (Nazi's) was only one of many rightwing military groups. Was Hitler brilliant at exploting this situation, or was he lucky? Its hard to tell, but many economists believe that the economic recovery that Germany achieved in the 1930's was the result of the work of the previous chancellor (sorry cant remember his name)

Both. Dread full inflation hit Germany and its` monetary system broke down, people needed a carrier bag full of money, just to buy a loaf of bread. Hitler was there, he promised them "everything they wanted". He put people back to work by massive public spending, like building the auto ban(motor-ways ) he was a good orator he told them what they wanted to hear, they believed in and trusted him.

This nasty little Austrian, failed house painter and failed artist (he failed his entrance exam to Art School) had a damned good PR. man. Once in place there was no shifting him. When the war was lost and he thought the Russians would get him he poisoned his dog, his just married wife Eva and himself. I regret the death of his dog.
