Coker? Absolutely...the program was in chaos.

Bowden fired his son...that will keep him in the job this year...but I expect him to retire this year or next.

Coker did not have the team going in the right direction. His recruits did not deliver. His success was the result of using players he had not recruited. Also, he lost control of the team as far discipline although Miami has always had a problem with discipline. I believe those problems run deep through the organization. Remember the disciplinary sanctions the Miami front office handed down then further steps had to be taken when they were criticized for being too lenient This is the reason I do not feel Miami will have a long-term coach like a Bowden. The boosters and front office meddle in the coaches affairs too much.
As far as Bowden he put FSU on the map in college football. A legend like a Bowden gets to choose his own terms as far as retirement. He's like Joe Pa or The Bear. No comparison to the likes of a Coker.

Yes he should have been fired. Wasn't he supposed to change Miami's team jailbird image? Aren't they all still seen as a bunch of hooligans waiting to graduate to Jail? Seriously I don't know if he was supposed to change the image or not but I thought that was his plan. Besides losing isn't accepted down there. IF he could have controled the team and made it look like it wasn't a bunch of future inmates he might have had a chance at another year, although that would have been asking alot.

i hate Bowden...so i'll ignore that you brought him up from now on...

but have you seen how well diciplined the Miami players have been?

it's not like the "big" brawl was the first time anything like that has happened with them.
Coker's lost control of the team.

They'll bring in somebody who will whoop their asses a little
