I support the men and women in harm's way, but I cannot believe so many people in our nation blindly support a war that has no end in sight and that is killing off some potentially great people simply for the oil and the greed of President Bush, Dick Cheney, and the Republicans and Democrats along with the Special Interest Groups who are making billions off the blood of young, old, and middle of the road, (age-wise) Patriots who are fighting this Global War on Terrorism.
9/11 was tragic and horrific, but in truth, how many people even know who is fighting in this war? It is not the sons of the rich, but the brave and proud young people from your neighborhoods or the ones you would not even drive through. I am a former Senior NCO in the Army. Does anyone in the upper class even know what that is? Does anyone care?
So, the question is simple: Does the war affect you if you support it or are you simply towing the line of your Party?

I do not mean to imply that the war does not affect all Americans in some way, but oil is only the gravy, the real meat of the profits come from the no-bid contracts. Hell-a-burton makes millions and that is one dollar less than one life lost in this ridiculous war.
I used to be a "true-believer", and I don't question the loyalty or bravery of anyone in uniform now or formerly, but I do believe that the war was against Osama, when did Iraq suddenly become the focal point of our losses in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania?
Yes, we need more troops over there, but who wants to send their kids now? Do you think the elite will send theirs? I support the soldiers, Marines, sailors, and airmen and all others who still believe in what they are doing, I just have no faith in the government.

I came from a very well to do family and served as an officer in the Army during Dersert Storm. I also know that I am by far, not only one from the good side of the tracks. Please don't even begin to preach about this being a Poor Man's War. As a Sneior NCO, I would expect you to know better. I support the troops and the goal 100%. I do wish we had a better plan, and would definiately like to see the peace in that region and our servicemen and women home sooner than later. My opinion has nothing to do with supporting the party line.

It was a mistake to start this war, but now that we are there, we have to finish the job that we started. It doesn't really affect me since I was permanently disabled during my tour of duty in the Army, but I would serve again if I could. We need to have more troops over there so we can do the job properly. If that mean implementing the draft, then so be it. And yes, I think women should be involved in the draft starting with the Bush girls.

I think that Iraq needs martial law right now, including curfews and travel limitations. We need to get control of the violence. Once that is done, then we can allow the people more freedom and train more of thier own people to police the country. At least that's the way it looks from my armchair.

I lost my twin brother earlier this year in Iraq. I am in the military myself. I know first hand what can happen. I still support the military and what we are doing. We are not in Iraq for oil, will people stop saying that. If we wanted oil that badly we would dig up Alaska. The reason gas prices went up was the greedy oil companies and not the actions of out military. Dont believe me, look at all the oil companies who have been posting record profits. This isnt about oil.

The war can't be about oil, the price of fuel is still too high. I think the war in Iraq is a distraction from the war in Afghanistan. Why are we always hearing about Iraq and not about Afghanistan? Anyone ever think about that? Wars like this one (Sunnis and Shiites (sp?) can never be won, it's was going on long before we showed up and it will be going on long after we leave.

i support the war and our troops and Bush i think we have no choices in the matter we must fight they are trying to kill us they have been doing it long before Bush and they will be doing it after Bush they declared war on us in the early 90s we cant just sit back and get attacked time after time all over the world and do nothing about it and no i have not been in the military but i have served my community as a fire fighter and i would join the military if they would lower their standers a little and if they would let me bring my own weapons that would be cool i would love to get some revenge

Thank you, I do not support the war. I support the troops. LET GET OUR SOLDIERS OUTTA THERE AND PROTECT THE USA. To one Senior NCO from other former NCO 1/75TH Hunter Airfield, Savannah Georgia. We must use the US Military to protect American Lives not making profits for Super-Rich invested in Weapons & Arms.
NCO---Non-Commisson-Officer.
for those who do not know.
My experience in US ARMY, the majority of Soldiers are---Poor Whites, Blacks, & Latinos in that order. Alot Soldiers cannot pay for College Education, use Bonus to pay for College.

The rich & powerful only care about becoming more rich & powerful. The others that support it and are not R&P are just misguided & foolish.
