As the debtor you have to pay for the creditor's costs expended to get you to pay your debt. If you had paid your debt in a timely fashion they would not have been forced to take the next step to hire an attorney to send the letter. Pay the fee and don't get behind again, if you do get behind again, at least make payments on the amount owed, as long as you are paying, I do not believe they can turn your matter over to an attorney for collection.

It's the contract or agreement when you signed up to take a loan or apply credit card from Banks, that you have to pay for the legal cost if you default the payment, of course include the lawyer letter.

once they issued the letter of demand, u will have to bear the legal cost, it is becos of your non-payment that they issued the lawyer letter in the first place, so there is no place for argument for you here in not paying for the legal fee unless M1 agrees to absorb on your behalf, which they are not likely to since they have made the decision to proceed to terminate your contact if u did not pay up.

You should not have to pay for the lawyer's letter, however, they have you over the barrel so if you want service restored you must do it their way. You can fight it, but they will not restore service until the dispute is settled. I had a similar situation but I finally had to pay the service company.

You are responsible for the lawyer's fees. If you had of paid the money prior to them turning it over to a lawyer to collect, then you wouldn't have had any extra fees. They had to pay the lawyer to get you to pay, so yes, you are responsbile.

you did not hire the lawyers services, you are responsable for "your debt only", unless, you are proven to be, "a repetitive defaulter".
