Unless there was abuse involved, the kids suffer most from divorce. If abuse was part of the marriage, the children will be much happier later on.

A divorce can be easy and not so much painful, if both parents decide to sort out their differences peacefully and in a civil manner, for the sake of their kids.

If both parents divorce on friendly terms and out of common agreement, and move on with their lives easily and cooperate with each other, divorce can be an easy and non-traumatic event.
However, when the parents fight against each other continuously, when they put their children in the middle of their conflicts and use them as weapons, when they slander each other, hide from each other, refuse to meet each other, or even fight for custody, the kids are the ones that always suffer the most, and they can really see their lives torn apart and ruined if they have selfish parents.

So yeah, I think it mostly depends on the terms in which the divorce happens. A friendly divorce out of mutual agreement does not harm much the kids, or could even be beneficial for them in the long run, while a bitter, resentful divorce can make them suffer terribly and destroy their lives.

Just ignore it all together if he says it just change the subject! Dont let him push you over the edge its your life and you can live how you want to there is no reason he should be upset that you are taking the steps to feel and look better. He may be a little jealous because he wishes you would have done this when you were together which would make him wonder if it could have all worked out had you done these things... but the relationship cant work like that after reading the other one its classic abuse! ignore what he says its not worth getting worked up over your in a much better position and he hates that ... that is where the criticism comes from

I believe the children suffer the most in a divorce. Because every child craves to see the mum and dad build a happy home together. In a situation where children are not present i believe both partner suffer the same degree of loss

ASIDE FROM THE CHILDREN, THE SPOUSE WITH THE MOST VESTED INTO THE MARRIAGE. AND I'M TALKING ABOUT THE SPOUSE WITH THE MOST HEART, SOUL, MIND, ETC. INVOLVED.....THE PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND EMOTIONAL ASPECT, NOT FINANCIAL. THIS IS USUALLY THE SPOUSE THAT ENDS UP FEELING BETRAYED SOMEHOW.

(HOWEVER, I'M SURE THAT THE SPOUSE THAT WINDS UP IN A FINANCIAL PICKLE IN THE END WOULD DISAGREE WITH ME.)
