Well written song. I read it and get a picture of judgement day in my head. He wasn't good enough to get in heaven but too bad to get in hell. I believe he is talking to GOD.

i like this song. it could mean different things depends on how you interpret it. thats the great thing of music and poetry and art. to me hes asking for forgiveness and he need for god to show him the way, take him in, forgive him of his sins and love him. it all just depends on how you see it tho.
