an ipod is a type of mp3 player, made by apple. there are several other mp3 players on the market, but the ipod is generally considered to be the best at the moment.
as with a lot of other mp3 players, the ipod in various versions is also capable of playing different formats of audio file, as well as videos.

All an Ipod is is an expensive MP3 player. It's name is just so big from all of the advertising. I do have one, and I also have had a Creative MP3 player. They do basically the same things. Although with iPods, you have to use iTunes. Others are more versatile.

some are worse, some are better, but the great thing about the ipod is the stuff made to go with it
it can be controled by so many things, Reciver, speakers, remote contols that it makes it very handy
