Depends on what you are searching for as each search engine is biased towards a different area. For scientific or technical info I am still partial towards altavista.net They were one of the early big ones and seem to filter in such a way that I can find more technical or scientific and factual stuff there. Also Mooter.com which is from Australia gives you several different search paths on a single search and you can pick which one after the search has done. It is also good for bringing up stuff that is not only biased towards U.S. sites. Good if you are looking for info that might be universal globally. And Ask.com is also good as other's have mentioned Dogpile searches several major searches at the same time. Experiment with them and you can figure out which ones you prefer for different searches. Because they all have ad sponsors their searches are biased towards the most common type of advertisers that they have. This skews the results in different directions on each search site.

There are a lot of search engines, but I think the best is still Google.

You can try MSN and Altavista or whatever but they still show the same thing on Yahoo and Google

I like Ask.com. Dogplie.com is usually good for finding pictures. Be careful, your question might be deleted by Yahoo administrators, lol!

I use www.metacrawler.com when I'm looking for something, but can't get the right wording. Usually it has suggestions for other phrases to look up on the right hand side.

Ask.com is pretty good. Msdewey.com is strange, but worth a look.
