I'm not a republican. Every day I consider myself more of an independent. Republicans do not have the corner on blindness. Labelling is not helping anyone. My guess is that many republicans truly wanted to improve the lot in life for many in the middle east and elsewhere. They were frustrated and wanted to confront murderous fanaticism. They, like many of the majority, were misguided and not well enough versed in history to understand what we were getting into. The real question is how do we make something decent come out of this horrible situation? Education, focus, open discussion, sheer will and avoiding cynicism (like we're doing now). Merry Christmas!

Your question is unclear. I assume you are talking about the war in Iraq, as this seems to be the overriding issue of most Liberals.

Let me try to answer, although in the future please try to compose a more complete question.

Saddam was bribing select members of the United nations via the "oil for food" program. He was literally buying his way out of inspections. Had he cooperated, he would probably been able to avert continued scrutiny by the US, since it was impossible to enforce any of the multiple resolutions as Saddam had bought and paid for them.
So the answer is that the UN is to blame for the war via it's lack of enforcement and not being unified against the genocidal govt of Saddam Hussein.

Do you find it honorable to ignore genocide? Saddam killed up to a million of his own people. Would you find it disgraceful to let a genocidal ruler rule unopposed?

Perhaps you should ponder the question, "Is war ever justified?" Many Liberals would say no to this question, to which I would ask them:

Does Tyranny justify war? Genocide? Slavery? World conquest? Radical religion? Removal of human rights? Terrorism?

If you say no to all of the above, then YOU are the disgrace to our country and the world.

Well they dont like to see death as much as believe the propaganda that is spewed by this adminstration. They for some reason believe we are there to spread freedom and democracy and I mean really when has that ever mattered in the history of the US. We supported Saddam, we initially supported Castro, good grief I mean Bush even said Putin is a good man.

So I mean at this point im sure some of them have to know they were wrong to back this monkey, but if they admit it, well that would be a major blow to their intelligence ( or lack of) so much like Bush they Stay The Course.

Propaganda machines only allow one sided stories and reports. They turn freedom fighters into criminals by accusing them of high crimes and treason. Here in the USA we have none of this and yet you claim Bush is a propagandist. Watch V for Vendetta and look to see what propaganda is like. Please educate yourself instead of spouting off what you heard someone else say.

As for the question: I suppose it would not be an embarrassment if we sat back and let terrorists attack without retaliation. It would not be an embarrassment if we sat back and let Saddam kill millions of our Kurdish allies and send money to the families of suicide bombers. You sir are the blind person.
