No none of them do. They want to make it the way they want it, which is not better.

Do you want a real answer, or do you want your low opinion of liberals validated by other conservatives?

I am a liberal. Yes, I want to make America better.
As much as I disagree with most of lundstrom2004's assessment of the liberal viewpoint (no, it's not about having a weak military or apoligizing to Muslim terrorists which doesn't even make sense), my vision of a better America may not be your vision of a better America. My idea of how to make America better may not be the same as your idea of how to make America better. My ideal America is one in which crime rates and unemployment are low, borders are secure, international relations are smooth and America's presence in the world is as a positive leader. My ideal America is one in which the rights of corporations in the free market are weighed and balanced against the rights of the workers. My ideal America is one in which religous expression is a respected private right, and the public space is secular. My ideal America is one that has taken active steps to preserve the environment.

We may all have widely different ideas about what makes an ideal America. But don't make the mistake of thinking that just because our ideas differ, that liberals are inhuman anti-American monsters bent on tearing down this country like some cartoonish supervillian.

Whoa there, little guy. I would hesitate to say that any American does NOT want to make America better. But what constitutes their individual ideal of 'better' is not the same for all, and in some cases are polar opposites.

That said, I do believe they want to make America better. But I also believe that what they think is 'better' is not actually better, nor is it in keeping with the ideals of freedom and liberty this country was founded upon.

Not really, they typically don't believe in the concept of "better" --- it is too judgemental. If America was "better" then some other country would have to be "worse".

They want all countries to be the same as well as all people --- well except the leaders, of course since they are more intelligent than the rest of us.

Yes they do, but they define a better America as one with a weaker military, a weaker economy, and an enemy of free trade and globalism. The define a better America as a nation beholden to Kyoto Protocols, when no one else who signed it is beholden or following their obligations. The define a better America as a nation that surrenders its sovereignty to an international body of law, known as the world court.

That is how they define making America better.

No. They want to make it the way that makes them feel good. Sometimes, as adults, we must make hard decisions and do things we don't want to for the greater good. Liberals only want to FEEL good at any cost.

No, they want to make America humble like Europe. In their tiny little minds you should apologize to a Muslim Extremist for getting blood all over his knife while he's sawing your head off.
