arwen is only 3/4 elven and she had the same choice that elrond and his twin brother faced. elrond chose an elven life, his brother the life of men. arwen's power to make this choice is symbolized by her token and namesake, the evenstar. like her uncle, she chose a mortal life to be with aragorn. her parting with the evenstar to give to frodo symbolized this choice, and in a way symbolized frodo taking her place on the ships to the undying lands. although what really entitled him to go was because his possession of the ring made him immortal too.

if she were here, she'd live in the united states and be the first female president of the us, running on an environmental platform in either the green or democratic party
