You have to tell her, she may not be aware of it herself. Hard to believe we can't smell what's 2 inches below our nose that others can smell 4 feet away.
Tell her as gently and lovingly as you can that you are afraid she may have a medical problem such as sinus infection, gastric problems, or gum disease. There are many medical reasons for bad breath. Suggest she see a doctor, do some research on your own first to find one who treats bad breath, chronic bad breath isn't cured by mouthwash alone. Good luck, and a pat on the back for being sensitive to her feelings!

Wow, this is a tuffy. Um, I would sit down with her and just tell her that you love her very much and you wanted to let her know that she might have a problem with simple Chronic Halitosis. She should go see a Doctor and get diagnosed for this and get a prescription for it. Everyone has bad breath but if its so bad that you can't stand getting close to her then it's S.C.H. and she should see a DR. Be very careful of her feelings cause that the most important thing.

The best way is just to be upfront, honest, but with a lot of tack and with suggestions on what's causing the problems, offering to go to the dentist with her to have it checked out and the remedies that she can do now while waiting to go to the dentist. Make sure she has floss, a toothpaste with baking soda in it, a good mouth wash and that she brushes several times a day.

The reason may be caries or tonsillitis. Maybe it would be a good idea to start there and ask her if she's been having e.g. a sore throat lately and go from there.
Actually, there are very few grownups whose breath does not stink. (Probably yours does too.)

Sensitive-shemensitive....tell her straight out that her breath is bad and she needs to do something about it. People who love and care about one another should be able to do this without fear of injuring the other persons feelings. Besides...if you don't tell her who will?

buy tooth brushes, mouth wash and toothpast for the both of you (just so she does not think it is only a problem with her)

tell her that you talked to a dentist and have gained a huge concern in the way that the to of you have be taking care of you mouth and that you think you should brush togather.

(at this point you need to watch how she brushes her teeth compaired to the way ou brush yours.)

as long as she gets the toung good her breath should be a little better but once she starts brushing her whole mouth her breath should improve 100%

Difficult one! Yes, OK, I would make out that both of our breaths stink. Like, arrange for both of you to go and see an oral hygienist/dentist. Also, blame the food/alcohol you both consume.
Be open and relaxed about it; say like, gosh, don't you think the stuff we buy makes our breath smell foul? God, mine really stinks -yours isn't that bad though...

;-)

You ask her if she has a stomach problem and when she inquires the reason of your question, you gently tell her that you noticed that lately her breath changed.

tell her she should go see a doctor , that you noticed that lately she has a strange smell in her breath. Maybe it is a dental problem or something from the stomach.
