A colony of people living inside the mother being, which has blood sucking tentacles reaching out to almost every other colonies. But the people inside are oblivious to this fact and cannot understand why other colonies would want to attack them, since their tentacles do nothing but help the others.

I have two possibilities to ponder:
#1) BABYLON; The Great Whore who thinks she cannot be debased.
#2) A nice home-made stew or soup (reps the "melting pot" which we are), but is composed of rotting/expired ingredients; (reps the moral decline and spiritual death of the whole soup aka America).
