I think we do need to change how we are handling things in Iraq.
But I think Bush and his policy with this situation went on way too long. So we need to proceed with extreme caution. President Bush authorized the invasion and frankly I don't think him or his advisers thought things completely through before doing so. Now everything is a huge mess because of this huge blunder. As far as many people thinking that we should just leave.......well now we can't. Just think about all the innocent citizens of Iraq. We bombed the crap out of their country completely tearing it to pieces. They are now on the verge of a civil war or already are depending on who you listen to. Since we made this mess we need to see it through to protect the innocent citizens and the children of this country. It would be very irresponsible now for the Unites States to just "cut and run" from a mess we created.
Do you really think we can just leave and say "sorry my mistake" ?
We crippled this country and now it's our responsibility to help them get "back on their feet" and give the children of Iraq a future. If we don't the citizens of Iraq will always be bitter and an enemy of the United States. They will want nothing but the worse for the U.S. for generations to come. And in the future they may try to "pay us back" in a bad way if we just up and leave them in this mess we created.

No, it's not too late.
First let me detail what I think needs to be done to effect an end to much of the violence in Iraq.
1. Capture or kill radical Imam Muqtada Al-Sadr. He is a pawn of Iran and is inciting violence against Sunnis and US troops at the bidding of Iran. Further, we must crush the Maadi army that is affiliated with Al-Sadr and Hezbollah, and is supported by Iran.
2. Negotiate with the Sunnis, who probably now know that if we leave tomorrow will be crushed by Iran and Al-Sadr.
3. Be prepared to engage Iran with any means possible, including limited nuclear weapons. They are the greatest threat to humanity since Nazi Germany.
None of these choices would be easy, but the alternative is failure, an Iranian controlled Iraq, and possibly greater battle to deal with Iran at a later date.

We don't know what will happen six months out. But it is never too late to look at different options and a plan for pulling out our troops. As I've said in other places in this great big web. I hope if they do make a plan to pull the American and coalition troops out of Iraq, they don't announce it. If they announce it to the American people, they'd be announcing it to the world and I feel that wouldn't be good.
So like in everything, from your own personal life to major wars, it's never too late to change course.

I'm afraid it is. But as you said. Time wounds all heals. Mr Bush has forgotten a lot of the GOOD old clique's that held up through the years.
Economy - You can not have guns and butter.
That means WAR and Tax breaks simple
Stay close to your friends and closer to your enemy's
Now there's one that really got bush and the rest of us in deep POOP.
