Who cares about Spongebob- Patrick is the best!

Now, I don't know whether to believe this, myself-- please don't be upset with me-- but some have suggested that it is to indicate that Spongebob is homosexual, because while his parents wanted him to grow up to be a CONTRACEPTIVE sponge, we all know you can't fit a SQUARE PEG in a ROUND HOLE.
I have to disagree with those who think it is due to a physical disability, or we would see ramps, special parking spots and other accomodations for those with rectangular sides and sharp edges.
And I haven't heard Spongebob whining and demanding all sorts of special social changes to suit him, or seen other square sponges on the show. This is why I don't think Spongebob is homosexual.
Body modifications...? The way some land people get tattoos and piercings...? That's one way to show how rebellious and edgy he is!
Was there some kind of accident where he got chopped up...? Perhaps young Spongebob fell into the whirling propeller of The Love Boat...? And they replaces his normal sponge parts with bionic sponge parts...?
Was he a victim of crime...? Was he walking home late one night with his parents after watching a movie and they were attacked by a holdupman who sliced Spongebob with his scimitar...? Of course, feeling no pain, he would not have bothered to vow eternal revenge on all criminals, so we are spared the Dark Sponge Returns...!
Maybe he was rocketed here from another planet where all the sponges are square, or exposed to cosmic rays, or got splattered with radioactive goop after it dripped down a storm drain, or-- no! That's it!! Spongebob was bitten by a radioactive sponge!

same reason why some people look nothing like their parents......and no that reason is not that he's adopted. Would be a great explanation, but sometimes ppl just don't look like their parents. Genetics is a strange yet wonderful thing. You can also ask the questions how do some ugly (sorry to say) people have cute babies? And...how do some really good looking ppl have not so cute (I'm sorry again) babies?

It would make since if the show's called Spongebob Squrepants and he was round and just b/c his parents are round. Not parents have a resemblance to thei childs.
